Montezuma Cypress

The Montezuma Cypress is a decidedly iconic tree in the south, with its large, almost disproportionate trunk and fringe like needles. It is the national tree of Mexico and thrives in the humid and hot air of South Texas.

Though very similar in appearance to the Bald Cypress, it rarely produces knees, thus making it an appealing drought tolerant landscape tree.

At Alvin Tree Farm we have some 45# Cypress that are just full of charm. Cone shaped while they are young, they grow to have a large evergreen canopy perfect for providing shade to a picnic table in the park, or next to a backyard pond.
